Do i need Catalyst Control Center?

For the most part CCC has just caused me problems, and i hear about how new drivers give boosts for certain games but does that apply to my old 6850?

As long as you can get the drivers w/o getting CCC you don't need it. And come on, a 6850 is not that old .

I've never had a problem with the CCC. Works fine for me and handles my GPU well. What kind of problems are you getting?

As the above, what problems have you been having?

Most of the new optimizations are for GCN cards. Older ones such as 6800 series are based on the VLIW architecture so they likely wouldn't see much for performance gains moving forward.

A lot of people end up creating their own problems by using driver cleaners or other random utilities. I haven't had any CCC issues just using the bundled installer/etc.

Can't really remember what my problems were but they still happened, but im fine now. I may get catalyst again but the times I've used it it's been useless, so what can i do with it that will have a big impact on my overall experience (Besides OCing i use Afterburner for that.)
