Hey everyone I have a question, im having a few conflicting arguments on this discussion.. im currently running windows XP home with all the HP gear on it, however i just bought a new motherboard and video card will i have to reformat everything after i install the new motherboard???? ive been told i have to so as that all the Hp programms dont continue running in the background. is this true????

Thanks in advance

You might have t reinstall the xp because of the hardware change. I'm not sure about the rest.

You should format and reinstall windows after the hardware change, so the hardware config will be set up properly... BUT! I Must warn you... IF you replace your motherboard as an upgrade and the copy of windows you have was Pre-installed on your system by the Manufacturer It may not install... and if it does you Most likely wont be able to activate it!

I would think that re-formatting as well as reinstalling Windows would be the best option. I would advise that you backup any important file before hand.
