Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice...my computer is about 5 years old (with a few newer parts)...currently i have (don't laugh):
motherboard: Asus A7V333
processor: AMD athlon xp 2600+
RAM: 1GB
graphics: ATI radeon x800
windows 2000 pro

so basically, its been acting funny for a while now...i'm not really sure about computers, so i have no idea whats wrong, but it'll freeze and bleep and then i'll have to restart it. it usually says something about an improper CPU speed, so i'm gonna guess theres something wrong with it. Its also running slower than it used to.
but heres the problem, i cant seem to find a new CPU for this motherboard (unless i'm just looking in the wrong places). so i've been thinking about doing an upgrade and replacing the motherboard and cpu, but i've got no idea what'd be best for me. i use my computer for games, internet and word. i've got a budget of around £200...so any suggestions about what i should get?
thanks in advance :)

That motherboard only supports Athlon XP and Duron processors.

With that budget, your best bet would probably be to purchase a barebones kit, then adding a new PCI-e video card and memory.

my advice would be to save up maybe another £100 and you would be able to get something better like
