Do I really need to buy more ram? I have 6GB

Hi I have a xps l702x with 6Gb of ram.

but I seem to be having things like this

I keep having pauses while I load programs as the ram seems to be moving data, but I only have a few programs open, itunes, F, chrome, Vs 2010 spotify running.

Do I really need to buy more ram?

In Win 7, the Available RAM is RM that is currently being used for a Pre-fetch cache but is instantly available when needed. I don't think you will see a benefit from adding more RAM.

your lack of responsiveness may be the harddrive access time. you could try adding a ssd as a cache or just use a boot drive for the ssd, ocz makes drives for both of these applications.

I suugest the folowintg:

1-- Defrag the drive(s)
2-- Run a full Anti-virus scan.
3- On XP there is a 'Clean up' option (right click on computer and select properties, if window 7 has similar use that.
