HI, my mate has had problems connecting to internet on her computer. Since 2 weeks ago, all we get is 'no page to display'. She has connected into my laptop for now until we can solve this problem.

She is with NTL and I used their installation disc on my laptop fine and connection was fine, but her pc just doesn't connect, no matter what we do. I have done disc clean/defrag, i have checked that her wireless is disabled, i had to disable mine on laptop to get NTL internet etc. WE know wires are ok, as laptop works fine, so its def a pc problem. I am wondering if we are missing anything, or if there is something I haven't checked.

If we can't solve problem we are considering re-formatting hard drive.

Any help anyone

thanks in advance

ummmm...ok, just a couple of questions...

should i feel stupid for asking what NTL is? also, what kind of connection is this...dial up? wireless? cable?

i wouldnt consider reformatting so quickly either.

NTL is a UK Internet service provider. We have pc running on win xp. Its not the internet provider thats the problem its the pc, as internet works ok on laptop. Will try the link that SC7 sent me, thanks x
