do RAM-sinks increase stability?

well.. i have my memory running at 400MHz now. however, i want to push it a bit more.
i can set it to 450MHz. the system still boots up. but when i play WoW, the computer crashes. i think i can make it run stable again by putting ut the RAM voltage another .1V ( or .2V). howevre, im concerned about the heat then.

i want to buy these things.

but, do they cool well?
and do you think the PC will run more stable then?

to play it safe i would go wiht a fan or liquid cooling. i dont thin heat sinks do a whole lot. but i guess ram doesnt heat up as much as a cpu. can you put ram fans in your case?

heats always an issue, so yes, that could be a partial cause of stability issues, but I wouldnt figure too much on that. Its just a heat issue, like it is from the cpu, the computer isnt unstable when the cpu is hot, atleast not till its overheated. I havent had experience with ram coolers, ram never seems to have given me problems in the past, but Im sure they would help becuase, after all, thats what they are supposed to do.

well.. i know. heat doesnt cause instability.
however, to reach higher speeds, you have to put up the voltage, otherwise it gets unstable ( because the IC's dont swich that fast usually)
but, does anyone has expirience with this kind of sinks, and do they work well?

I use them, they are cheap and the only thing they can do is help, and they CAN help in your case, It still may crash though.

well.. 15 euries ( 18,2 USD )each, isnt quite cheap. but you would reccomend them if i want to up the voltage a bit more?

doesn't really do much, i have them only cause they cost 2 bucks each, if you feel them after you play a game they do heat up a little so i guess it is helping but probably not to a degree where it allows you to oc it farther.

My motherboard manual shows these really cool RAM fans that latch onto the RAM slots and cool them down with 2 fans. It is called OTES RAMflow. This is an Abit motherboard and product but i'm sure there are generic ones out there. Try looking around

nice idea.. but the case im currently building will suck air from outside and blow it directly on the RAM. i think that should do something :)
nice find tough
