do they sell 1TB hard drives yet

I dont think they make internal 1TB hard drives. I know they have external though, but its probably 2 500GB hard drives.

I've seen some enclosures that had a few drives(I'm thinking 4 250s). Also, once on newegg, I saw something about a 700G drive in the power search list. I never checked it out, though.

So, to answer your question, there might be one out there, but it's definetly not readily available.

It's probably not worth the money getting a 750gb drive, as you can get say 3 smaller drives that are much much cheaper.

A problem with that TB drive posted, it was apparently a 5.25". So, not your typical 3.5" drive size, but I'm sure it could go in a bay like a CD ROM...

The largest ordinary desktop hard drive is 750GB, using new perpendicular technology.

@pwoznic: The 750GB drive has a cost of $0.546 per GB. An ordinary 250GB SATAII drive has a price of $0.359 per GB. So yes it does cost more, however if you need alot of storage space but cant have many hard drives, that is still a great option for you.

im looking arround for 1TB hard drive to buy

Dude, you must be building one awesome computer, you're willing to buy the best of almost everything... I hope you enjoy it all.

Anyway, like they said, I haven't seen many 1 TB hard drives but TigerDirect has a Seagate 750GB hard drive right now for only $449 with a 5 year warranty. Seems like a pretty decent deal to me. Go with that drive and a Maxtor 250GB hdd ($90) and you've got your TB for $550, a lot cheaper than the $1200 TB drive posted earlier.

Did anybody read the article that was linked? It's from 15 Jan 2004. Here's a little excerpt that I like:
By 2006 5-terabyte hard drives may become available.
To my knowledge, a 1 TB doesn't exist that will fit in a 3.5" Bay. Lacie now offers externals that hold up to 2.5 TB but they're just like an external HDD rack.

Well, if money wasnt an issue, then the 1200 would be worth it to save space and a cleaner rig.

Very true... I would just rather save the money, buy more/better hardware for my computer, and say to hell with the cleaness... but that's a personal choice.

The one i posted? The one i posted is a 1TB hdd.

It might be an external one though.........i dont know since there isnt any pics of it.
