Do you let other people on your computer?

Theres a bunch of kids that get on the living room computer. The other day it got a virus so I reset everything to factory defaults and kept what I wanted on the external hard drive. Do you let other family members or kids play on your computer? Im locking the computer and only my dad and mom and me can get on it.

My mom goes on to my laptop all the time and cancels out my steam downloads or something. Now she just takes the time to figure out my passwords.:(

Use something long with numbers, noone will guess it;) Nobody touches my computer, someone touches my computer they get punched(seriously). Plus when im not here i have a deadbolt on my rooms door and carry both keys with me, so nobody can get in here anyhow.

i don't like using psswds because i want to get on as quick as possible. i used to let my bro play on my pc, but then he started letting my 2yo nephew play and that's just not cool, so i put one and got a lock to my room.

i set them up with a old pc so he doesn't put his little hands all over my monitor and who knows what it is that makes the keyboard sticky.

my sister got on once, but i kicked her out.

so no, nobody gets on my computer.

I'm not bothered by someone getting on my computer. I have nothing important (or naughty) on it and if they manage to mess something up, I can fix whatever it is. My only rule is to not install anything unless they ask me.

I don't like people using my computer, for fear they won't give it the same love and attention i give it. I sometimes let my little brother play BF:2, but only under my strict supervision, lol.

I might try the Vault feature in OSX, it encrypts all your files and automatically decrypts then when they are used, with a password of course.

That's not strange..... Ok, but really you protect your computer that much?

Lol, I have the only working computer in my house, my mom plays pokerstars and my sister goes on myspace and facebook (I hide all my important things so they can't find it!)

No, i protect my room because i have a sister that steals anything she gets her hands on, hence the reason i keep my coffee pot, soda, etc in my room. Our house has old skeleton key locks, which it just so happens one key fits every door upstairs, so i had to get a deadbolt lock... Plus my homemade projector is pretty delicate and one wrong move and you would destroy it, so i like to limit the amount of people in my room...

Also, the reason people arent allowed on my computer is i have a $90 mouse and an expensive keyboard, plus i run folding@home pretty much 24/7. Besides, my idiot sister gets viruses on any computer she touches...

Yeah i let other people use my pc,All the family use my main rig but on non-admin accounts obviusly and mine is password protected.

My netbook on the other hand,I wont let anyone else use it because i fear they make break it lol

only my parents and 2 brothers other than that, no more unlss otherwise someone really neds it :) but they must not enter the admin folders ....

Nobody uses mine. My brother (17) uses mine to look up new games or movies to go see but that's about it. He knows better. He knows i'll be pissed if he messes something up. He does not know how to delete browsing history so i know he does not look at porn or anything. Mom has her own laptop she only bums when hers is sent in which has only been once.

SERIOUSLY MAN!! My older brother is the same exact way!! He is a liar and a thief! He steals money from me and bags of cans and bottles and like you said, whatever he can get (his) hands on!! He has someone looking for him right now because he ripped them off and i will be pissed if they come and steal something that is mine or anyone else that lives here! I have a 5 acre property and my uncle lives her as well as my grandma so he just put ALL of us in jeopardy! The guy does not know where we live (yet)!
