Do you think it's possible?

I've been pondering the idea of starting up a custom computer e-store kinda thing. I'd also do repairs and servicing. But would I get business and traffic if I made a good website and advertised?

I would keep it as a local thing, post stuff in the newspaper and whatnot. I just dont think an internet site would get a lot of traffic.

Completely agree I don't think there are many people who would be willing to send their computer to someone over the net. It's too risky. I would also recommend keeping it in the family, if you will, by first limiting to the area around you. That way you can see if there's a need for that kind of thing where you live. If there is, you can expand and grow out.

Check out the competition as well and see what they are doing. Maybe if you can charge a lower price and add other perks, people may be willing to do business with you. Also having certs is a wonderful thing. By stating that your MS certified, Linux certified, etc, people are more willing to trust you and the business.

I was also going to start a computer business with a buddy of mine, but there's so much competition where I live, it wasn't worth it. Good luck!
