Doe this mean that my portable HDD has crashed ?

All of a sudden my portable HDD has stopped working. Now when I plug it in to the power plug the light is not showing up. And when I connec it to the laptop , the laptop does not recognize it. Is it perhaps something wrong with the electric cable or the disc ?
The HDD is Seagate , 3 TB, 2010 , It is only 50 % full.

You didn't mention that in your other thread and that is precisely why it is a damn good idea to keep the threads as one. Anyway sounds like it is bust. Now you need to find out whether it is the power supply, the caddy or the hard drive. My 3TB Seagate didn't last very long I have to say. Only about a year. In my case it was the drive that died.
