Does a refresh rate of a monitor even matter?

Im asking if higher HZ like 144hz or 240hz matter and give an advantage in gaming and is it better to upgrade to a monitor with higher hz?

Yes, you will be able to actually notice more FPS (with a 144hz monitor you can notice up to 144fps and so on) assuming your PC is capable of it.

Yes. You can reach any FPS on any monitor but if you go above the refresh rate it will cause screen tearing so you'd usually want to cap it to your refresh rate.
