Does a video card work without drivers?

By work I mean will it display the screen to let you install the drivers?

Yes. I'm not sure how it works with BIOS, simple interface system of some sort I guess, but windows loads up crapy default drivers. Of course you'll need the real drivers unless you don't mind a graphics card that works as well as a stapler.

Yes, it had a onboard graphics card BUT it was disabled (I had to clear the bios to get it to work again).

And I'm not sure if it even has a "real" on board chip, it will display the screen, but it is so shitty that IE won't even scroll without lagging :P

Could be drivers not installed or something. That or it really is just plan shitty. What do you got for onboard, is that it in your specs?
