does anyone think they can make me a program?

well.. i dont know if it was possible without taking alot of money but i wanted to know if there was anyway to make a program to launch fireworks. i know that it can be done but i wouldnt know how to start. i would want to launch 30 fireworks at a time. the fireworks will be set up on 2 4x8 sheets of plywood. i dont really care to much about that its automated but it would be nice but how do you guys think i should do this. there are these things called ignighters that one end connects to negitave power and one connects to positive so if theres a way to tell the electric to go to the positive then that would work right? how hard would it be to make a program like this for my own use? i basacally just want to either hit enter to launch the firework or have to set them up at timed intervals to go off. how could this be done? would it take alot of money? would i need like computer chips and stuff. hey mabe if it gets good we could sell it and split profit :D

this is what im talking about... i drew this up real quick. the ignighter has sulfer at the end so that when the positive and negitive power meet the sulfer ignites. if i connect the negitive wire to all of the igniters and then have the positive be delt out on command then it would work. the thing is is that it would have to have like 30 different wires that come out so that it can light them all individually and not all at the same time. if you guys get what i mean how would i be able to computerize this system?


the triangle thing is the ignighter and the square thing with the + and - is a battery

btw this would be done on a labtop

I think it'd be a good idea to read something like this to start with. In theory, if you want to set it up I would have thought a basic series circuit with electrical igniters would be all you need.

However I must stress, as the website does, trying to set remote ignition systems can be very dangerous. It's not something that you should be trying to do without doing some serious research, and perhaps contacting a professional company like Kellner's for advice.

This subject doesn't really have anything to do with computing per se, it's more an electrical challenge. I know all the professional displays are choreographed by computer, but I wouldn't even know where to start in linking a pc or laptop program to an remote firing system.

Unless you are extremely proficient in electronics and know how to handle explosives safely, I would recommend leaving this one as a pipe dream, otherwise you may end up blowing yourself up.
 
You could just put some gunpowder in some pipes cut in half, and then put the fuses in the powder and light the powder, that could work. It's simple but I take no responsibility for any injuries caused by doing it this way.
 
Hehe, readind that I was thinking you ment Macromedia fireworks, I was thinking..hmm a batch file should do fine. My bad:P
 
well i have a way to do it without a computer but i just wanted to know if there was anyway i could hook it up to the computer. the thing is is that i dont want to have to set each one on fire or do it the way im going to. im going to get switches... like 30 of them... then run the positive threw all of the switches and inbetween each switch is one of those things on the back of a stereo that the positive wire connects to and goes to the one side of the igniter. i flip on switch and it powers to the next but doesnt light the second one. its a good way but insted off doing that i just wanted to see if i could computerize it. ill just do it my way thanks all.
