Does better graphic card=faster computer?

If you get a graphic card with more memory, will that speed up your computer a little bit? (like how having more ram memory, makes your computer faster)

The main increase in performance will be in gaming. But I guess if you were playing a game and had a program running in the background, then a GPU with more dedicated RAM would make it faster.

well, i guess if start off with a really bad graphics card, like some old 32mb one and you upgrade to something new, you would see some performence increase. On my family's dell, i changed the geforce2 64mb card with an fx5500 and there was a good increase in performance.

The graphic card that is in my computer now is a 8mb card, so upgrading to a 256mb card should increase overall performance or just gaming performance?

Both. Is the rest of your computer that outdated? If so, you probably wouldn't notice much. But it would help.

it will only help you with the resolution of the game, you might wanna get a memory stick to make ur pc faster

The only time upgradeing a video card will increase performance is if you go from an integrated solution, to a dedicated solution. Therefor your not using as much of your system RAM.

Whats the difference in integrated solution and dedicated solution?

integrated uses your system memory for video memory, so it will take away your from your available memory. With dedicated video, it has its own built onto the card, so you have more free ram.
