Does Dual Core Really Make A Diff?

I didn't have a chance to read the whole thing, but I think I know what he's getting at.

IMO, a dual-core processor will be significantly faster no matter what your doing, since Windows itself takes up several processes (usually around 20-40), and with a dual-core those will get split up between the two cores. It makes even more of a difference when your running multiple high usage programs, or multi-threaded games/apps.

The truest answer he gave. I completely agree.

"Keep two things in mind. As is often the case, the software hasn't caught up to the hardware yet. As more applications are written from the ground up with multithreaded code, I expect the benefits of dual-core chips to become more apparent."

So right now...not so much. Give it some time...then it becomes more and mor beneficial.
