When buying a video card, does it matter who the manufacturer is? For example in nvidias case zotac, evga or asus.

Thanks!

if you want a strong warranty, EVGA, if you want good tech support and a decent warranty, ASUS, thats as far as id go...zotac...thats up to you, i perfer asus myself.

To me, its a generic brand and hasn't been out as long as the other name brands.

Companies use different kinds of heatsinks on the core processor and RAM (some don't even use heatsinks on the RAM). And, some companies, for ex: XFX, redesign the PCB board to their liking. You will find you have better temps from from manufacturer to another. However, the warranty is a deciding factor for some people.

Personally, I don't care bout the warranty, because if the card fails in a year or 3, I would rather buy new technology.

which i don't remeber if it's xfx or evga, but there limited lifetime covers the value of the card at launch for a modern card, ie., a guy came here for a 8800gt issue, and said they were going to let him get a card worth like 5-600 in the gtx500 or hd6000 series, so i think the warranty does matter BassAdict.
