hello fellas.this might sound some how but just needed help in clarifyn an issue related to the processor of a brothers notebook.i observed that the cpu itulization on the performance console of the task manager window is always at 100% while its just a single program that is running, then i decided to open somr other programs too to help in the performance issue but i noticed the computer hangs at that point.i am a novice in the area of processor and its related troubleshooting tasks so pls what do u guys suggest.does it mean it needs replacement.its actually an AMD SEMPRON processor runninig @2.0 ghz.pls ur views.thanks in advance

Yeah it's just a slow single core, almost anything uses 100% of the CPU. A dual core is practically the minimum mandatory hardware for anything nowadays.

A few things that can speed things up....add the max memory with the max speed, defragment the hard drive, delete anything unused on the hard drive, and increase the virtual memory (if there's plenty of excess hard drive space). None of these will be drastic changes, just help a little bit. You still will have a slow single core CPU.
