Does my Dell limit me?

I've been wanting to upgrade my AGP video card and the one that I found out to be the best for the money was an ATI video card. The only problem is that my dell has always had an nvidia card and I have heard that when you mess with a dell computer too much they can be very picky and not work. So I just wanted some advice as to what you think I should do.

The only limitation you may have in the computer is your power supply. Most Dells come with fairly weak power supplies, so if you wish to upgrade your GPU, you might need some extra power. And I know some older Dells had propriatary power supplies...
