does processor effect memory bandwidth?

does the processor effect memory bandwidth much? im comparing mine (in sig) to some pc5300 CL4, and it seems mine performs better. i would assume this other ram is on a pentium 4, so does the processor effect memory bandwidth or are these benchmarks correct?
got the benchmarks from sisoft sandra or whatever, it seems mine performs better than any of the benchmarks they have, is it just because its corsair xms or what?

if i remember correctly, the thing you should be looking at is the front side bus speed.

The PC5300 in question would be DDRII, so comparing it you your DDR is kind of like comparing apples with oranges.

i beleive (if i understand you correctly) that the FSB is the speed the processor relates to: the mobo, the ram, and everything else on the computer... the clock speed is the actuall the speed it processes the data...
