Intel's Socket 1156 Lynnfield does not have a south bridge chipset. All devices that used to connect to the processor with Socket 1156 by south bridge now use the north bridge.

Is this the same for Socket 1155 motherboards?

Its basically a southbridge with whats left of the northbridge included. AMD could do the same thing, but I guess they think its easier to just update the southbridge and keep reanaming the northbridge. The 770/790 and 870/890 are the same with a different name.

Anyone have any links to a diagram of the Socket 1155 bus? Diagrams help me to understand.
