Hey guys, I'm just wondering, does the operative system affect a CPU ocerclock? In other words, could it become stable/unstable if I switch from Vista to XP or vice-versa?
no, it wont. the only thing it could do is exhibit a flaw or failed overclock quicker. the reason i say that is because Vista uses more resources than XP, so if your OC is unstable you may see it sooner.
i not trying to hijack the thread..but i oc'd on windows vista x64,vista 32 and xp 32 and seem to get better oc's with xp 32 and vista 32...x64 hasnt oced well at all for me..i really thought the os had somthing to do with it...
Yeah 'cause I switched back to XP and I was wondering if maybe there was a possibility that in any case I could by chance have an opportunity to try and perhaps achieve a small increase on my OC.
It shouldnt, but my friends OC'ed his CPU on Vista, and on the standered restart his HDD got formatted. I doubt this will happen again but...no its shouldnt
