Does the Q9550 pwn the Q6600 and the E8400

With all the E8400 vs Q6600 threads I thought I would start this one.With the Price drops closing in would it be wise to just wait for this chip compared to the 6600 or 8400 for use in heavy gaming and multitasking?
 
i should think so.

im waiting on intel price drops as you know so who knows what Quad il end up with :o
 
Yep I was thinking of the Q6600.Been researching it and mainly waiting for reviews of the new ATI/Nvidia cards to build and forgot all about the price drops .Supposedly $316 for the Q9550 ,Will probably $379 or so I bet due to all the price gouging intel does lately because of slack competition from AMD.Even so I think it would be good because you would be close to that 3.00 clock that the 8400 has and 4 cores like the 6600 with good l2 cache good multi and at a decent price.Probably be a good compromise of everything now for a build that would last a few years and by then you will get a newer MB/chipst anyways :rolleyes:
