Does this even exist??

Hello,

I'm sorry if this has already been done, but when I searched nothing came up.

Anyway, I was wondering, because I'm looking at a new graphics card, if any motherboards with support for the Athlon XP CPU's (namely 2800+) with PCI-express. The video cards that I've seen (that are PCI-e) are fairly cheap, not to mention faster and all the new cards are coming out in PCI-e.

So just in case that wasn't clear, do any PCI-e boards exist which support the AMD Athlon XP?

Thanks.

i really don't think so... socket A boards (athlon xp/duron/sempron) boards won't be expanded with any new technology such as PCIexpress, reason being AMD's more potent processors (which PCI express appeals more to) are either socket 754 or 939...

I have never heard of this, i looked about a bit and didn't find any thing. But that doesnt mean if doesnt exist for sure.
I did read that MSI where talking about releasing a X800 card that had both agp and pci-e connector on the same card, and you could simple flip them around to change between the two. Not sure if its released yet though

i also never heard of pci-e for a socket 478 motherboard, and i found on, best thing to do is google for your socket and PCI Express.
