does this ram look good for the money?

i'm wanting to upgrade my HP computer's ram. it came with dual 512mb ddr2 400 (2 sticks @ 256mb). i'm wanting to get a dual 2 gig ddr2 533 (2 sticks @ 1gig) setup. i'm not a gamer at all, but i do alot of video editing with adobe premiere and run file sharing programs alot. what kind of ram best fits my needs? i'm thinking just regular unbuffered ram will be fine, but let me know if i should get buffered, ecc, etc. i'm going to take out the current ram and put it in another computer, so the ram that i purchase will be the only ram in the computer. i have a 2.93ghz p4 on a intel 915gv motherboard. it can handle up to ddr2 533 ram... so i'm thinking i should go ahead and get that instead of the ddr2 400... right/wrong?

ps: that ram has a rating of CAS Latency: 3-3-3-8 @ 2.0v

i think everybody would agree that 99 out of 100 times, if you have the money theres no reason to skimp on ram. if i were you i would go ahead with it, just make sure youre getting the best deal.

You dont need a 2GB ram kit to have 2GB you know. Just buy 2x 1GB sticks.

What do you think a 2Gb ram kit is?

It is cheaper (almost always) to buy a 2Gb kit or 1Gb kit or whatever instead of buying 2 chips of 1Gb each or 512 each. You also don't NEED 2Gb of RAM, 1Gb will work fine for you.

I agree with everyone. The price isn't so bad, but also not the best. You can probably get a Kingston or Corsair for about $70-80 a piece.

I know that, but in the post above me he said that they didnt have that memory in a 2GB Kit, so i was letting him know that you can just buy 2x 1Gb sticks.

And sometimes its cheaper to get them seperatly.
 
yeah, i know 1gig would be fine for most applications, but i do alot of video editing, so the more ram the better. that's why i wanted to just go ahead and get 2gigs. i noticed that it's usually cheaper to buy the kit instead of two seperate sticks... but hey i'm up for which ever is better for the price. i'm just looking for good ram at a good price. it doesn't have to be the cheapest ram... i don't mind spending alittle extra to ensure it's quality stuff... but at the same time i don't want to spend money just for the brand name or something like that. i know alot of people on here build systems and deal with ram all the time... so i'm just hoping that some of you can point me in the right direction. i like the 1gig kingston that Lord Anthrax showed to me, but i did notice that it's CL was 4. the one i was originally looking at had a CL of 3... although it was @ 2.0v. i'm not sure if that higher voltage effects the CL rating... since most every other ram i've seen has been @ 1.8v. anyways, thanks all for the help so far and thanks for anymore help and suggestions.
