i was wondering if this would be good enough to run almost any game out there:

AMD Phenom II Quad Core 940 3.0ghz

4gb ram

BIOSTAR GeForce 9500 GT 1gb Video Card

xp pro 64bit

It should run most games on high,Crysis on some mixed high with medium depending on res.
 
Well you are kind of skimping on the GPU and over-doing on the CPU. You wouldn't be able to run many games on good graphics with that GPU. I would try a Radeon HD 4870 with a 2.5 CPU.

This would work best with a Crossfire ready mobo incase you want to get a second GPU.
 
Your not going to have very good graphics with that GPU get at least a 4850,4870 or GTX 250,GTX 260. You could get a Phenom II 710,720 they are very good CPUs.
 
It's ok. What do you mean by run any game? Do you mean run it on high settings, low settings or what? Because that could run Crysis with a med/high cross, bias towards the high, 4 gigs of ram is too much for XP Pro (I'm pretty sure) so I would get the Win7 RC or Vista pro.
A 9600GT card or better is all you need for the GPU.

Your computer now could run any game out there now, just not on the highest setting.
