Ok, A new power supply is in the mail so I hope my problems are from a 2 year old xfx PRO550W.
I recently moved, at the same time I purchased a topping TP30 T-amp to use for sound, it is a USB DAC amp.
First problem, when plugging things into or adjusting a fan on the same circuit, I get popping and when using Itunes it will kill the audio all together until I restart Itunes.
Second problem, I get audio skipping avery few seconds to a minute.
I downloaded DPC Latency checker and it is showing huge spikes of as high as 36,000us. It is saying the cause is bad drivers behaving bad, recommends disable/reinable drivers until I find the one.
I Purchased an APC Line-R 1200 Voltage regulator, I thought for sure this would stop the audio problems with interference from other electronics on the same circuit, It did nothing!
Strangely I also noticed some static when unplugging my usb printer cable and this also killed my audio...
I am far from a computer tech but I am thinking bad power supply which is why I amazon'd one.
Any input on this one?
thanks!
