does this sound like a virus?

this is an on and off thing! sometimes i X a page off and IE closes and restarts! like for example right now i can X off a page and will be fine!

GameMaster-This is my moms computer so i cant mess anything up, so i am iffy about doing that, do i get any more suggestions to use firefox? and will it stop IE from closing and restarting?
