Does vista run worse on laptops?

Lets say a laptop and pc shared the same spec, both ran vista ultimate.

Any difference in speed?

If they had the same specs then Vista would run just about the same on both. I know Omega has Vista on his laptop (Dell Inspiron e1505) and he says it runs great, and he uses it as his main operation system.

laptops are marginally slower, because of typically slower hard drives, and extra heat

more heat = higher resistance = slower performance

the differences would be marginal, tho

the real difference is gonna be cost. an equal laptop will cost you an arm and a leg extra than a desktop

but obviously, if mobility is a concern, you have no choice

It does run very well on my system. It does use a bit more RAM, however games play exactly the same, if not a bit better on Vista, and apps also run very well.
