Does Windows 7 reject removable storage devices that have been used on MacOS?

Hi, I borrowed an Ext HD last week off a friend who uses a Mac (Running MacOS) and when I connected the drive to the system I heard the usual windows sound for when new devices are connected. However, nothing was shown in 'My Computer'

I did hear a rumor a while ago that Windows 7 does not accept any drives that have been used with a Mac??

I'm just after a bit of info on the subject cheers :)
 
Windows just can't read the file system used on Mac drives, that's why. To access the files on that drive you'll have to either use a Mac or use Linux.
 
If you are planning to use that drive with Windows then you need to completely format it to a file system which Windows supports such as FAT32,NTFS and so on...
 
I see, one last thing.. Does this mean that my drive that I use with my Windows PC would not co-operate with his Mac? As he seems to think it would? There's always been this Windows vs. Mac between the two of us! Thanks

Actually, yes, a drive you use with your PC will be accessible on his Mac.
