Does windows 8 has file menu on the explore?

Hi guys.

I just get my hand on the windows 8 convertible. I did not see the layout function on the file menu on the windows explore? is there any?

I have some hidden files on a sd card, in windows 7 I use to turn on see hidden files on option in the explorer. but I don't see it on the windows 8 machine. Can some one tell me if I can see hidden files on windows 8 file folder?

This is how Explorer looks. You still have the ability to go in and change the folder options to show or hide hidden files and folders.

Here's what it actually looks like:

if you go to view tab which you see example in lucas pic, you will see the tick boxes for file name extensions, hidden files. Just put a tick in hidden files and they will show up.

For some reason I just don't like the way how Microsoft sorted those controls in Windows 8.
The way how they did it in XP was a lot better...to me at least.But I guess that's just me.

XP's took up space that is more suited for the file tree.
