Does Windows Defender even do anything??

Ok I have Windows Defender. Along with SpyCatcher, AVG anti virus and AVG anti spyware, Spyware Terminator, VundoFix, Ad-Aware SE, Spyware Doctor and Spybot S&D. Reciently found that I have a pop up generator. So I did a scan with Windows Defenter can came back clean. I then did a scan with every single other program I have and EVERY program came back with multiple fairly serious threats. So basically 50 viruses got past Windows Defender. So obviously it does not find viruses effectively. Do what does it do? Should I just remove it?

I found it didn't do much once it told me how to maualy delete a file and it would be a lot better if it did it itself

I've always found Ad-aware and Spybot better than Windows Defender.

I like windows defender. my system right now is very very clean very good.
how every Windows defender defends my system very good. Ive never seen any pop up from windows defender. its strange.

i personally dont like it... i use super snti spyware for scans and Avast. my dad uses it on his laptop and he isnt slowing down...

I dont think it does anything lol....Just sits there and didnt even detect some spyware i had

I just got Spyware Doctor....very good.

I had it for a while - a waste of space and resources - uninstalled it - the other options mentioned above are far better - I pesonally use Trend Micro PcCillin Internet Security 2007 which includes comprehensive spyware, malware and phishing filters aswell as what is turning out to be a very good spam filter.
