i've been working on a movie and so far its about 11min. and 30sec. when i try to save it on my computer so i can watch it windows media player, it won't save. i mean i started saving it at 5 and then checked ack at 7:30 and it still wasn't saved and it said 60min! i know that it doesn't take that long to save. it saved noramlly when the movie was only 9min. long and below. is there something different i have to do? or is the video to long to save? any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays.:)

well...i dont think changing the page file will help...but why dont you try adding 200 to 300 extra MB's to what is already there in both boxes. If that doesn't work than theres probably something wrong that can't really be fixed...maybe in that case, try a different movie editor...there are TONS out there.

thanks dave, i changed my vram, and saved again, it worked better then before, but when it got to 99% it just stayed there for like 15min. i got tired of waiting so i just canceled it. i have a few questions
1.my movie that i'm making is only 108mb, i've eddited videos from the internet that are about 150-200mb and it only takes about 20-30min. to save those. is it because the clips i'm using for my movie is from a digital camera?
2.what's a good program to get for making movies?
3.if i get another program, can i just highlight what i have in windows movie maker and paste it into the new program? or do i have to start over?
thanks

sorry for the double post, but i just wanted to say that it turns out that my movie was saved even though i canceled it. but ya, i still need answers for those three questions, thanks

Well files from digital cameras are usually larger than those found on the internet, so that would affect it. But like i said, it shouldn't be taking that long anyways, theres definatly a problem.

As for another good program, here's a few options (and this isnt exactly me area of expertise.)

1. Check windows update for a Windows Movie Maker Update. If there is one, try using WMM again.
2. http://www.avid.com/freedv/
That one looks very good...but it might take some time to learn

3. http://www.deskshare.com/download_details.aspx?ID=1
(That one doesn't look as good and i think its just a trial.)

Good Luck...keep me posted on how everything is workin out.

alrite, my movie is now completely finished, it's about 210mb. any suggestions on what my min. and max vram should be? maybe 1100-1500? i tried the avid thing, i just didn't understand it. and i don't want to have to start over my movie, i'm hoping i can host it online this weekend.

I'm a bit confused on all of that. So...what I gathered from it is that you are done your movie, but you dont want to have to wait this long again, so you're looking for other software...

That much vram seems a little bit unnessacary if you have a good amount of RAM on your computer. Try about 900 max..even that's a bit high...

And as for your movie thing, did you try the other link? I checked that one out...its pretty easy to use.

However, I'm not sure that Windows Movie Maker will take that long again, it might have had something to do with your content i duno.. but if it does...well maybe invest in that video edit magic thing, or...reformat your hard drive and Windows Movie Maker would probably work..
