Doesn't remember passwords

everytime i sign in to windows live messenger or google mail notification they require me to enter my username and password though i check the box where it says "remember me".
what's the problem?

You must have your cookies flushed every time you quit the browser/messenger or you have "no cookies allowed" set in your internet settings. Do you have any other security software on your computer that may delete cookies or prevent them from being saved?

the cookies on my browsers are ok. everytime i open a page in the browser, it remembers me.
my only issues are WLM and Gmail notification (not gmail account).
i don't know what security soft. u're talking about though..
i haven't changed anything and everything's been ok until yesterday.

Ah, OK. Have you recently changed your settings in Gmail to "always use HTTPS?"

Which OS are you using? Vista? XP? And, are you using an account with administrator's permissions?

yes. i'm using windows XP and i'm the administrator.

clear the cookies

first u have to clear the cookies from internet explorer and then configure the setting from tools->internet option

i actually work on moxilla which is my default browser. should i delete its cookies?

That would be a good option. Try clearing out all your cookies first. That may help the GMail notifier, but I think Messenger is another issue. Since Messenger is tied to Internet Explorer settings you may want to delete all the cookies and misc. from within there as well. You should also check to make sure that Auto Complete is enabled in your internet options and that your security settings (also in internet options) are not too restrictive.
