Domain Policy Prob

i have a problem on my domain controller. for some reason every pc that i connect the the domain isn't picking up the policies set on the domain. like for example (disabled right click, or the fixed wallpaper). and to my knowledge i have set the policies correctly.

the thing is that it was working fine till a couple of weeks ago and i still haven't managed to find out what could i have wrong, or what could i have touched that for this to happen.

does anyone have a few pointers?

run gpresult on your client and see if the policy is being applied or denied or anything like that.

did you set up a computer or a user policy?

yep, server is setup, org units set, policies set. mine apparantly is ok. but i have other computers on the network that are not picking up the policy nor the default wallpaper that i set. some pc's do and some arent. and the installation and setup of each pc was always the same.

thanks for the hint btw!

sorry for the delayed reply but make sure the users have access to the wallpaper you set for them.

when you ran gpresult on a pc that has this problem what does it say for the GPO

yes, all client pc's are controled through active directory. but it's funny though, some pc's i have no problems at all, and others come up with the discussed problem.

Check your scope on these machines, if you are doing it by computer groups perhaps there is something wrong there. Like computer named wrong, or perhaps a computer name is missing from that container.

my bets on either misplaced ad object (users or computers in places where the gpo isn't applied). Or he needs to configure the computers to wait for network access.

Are the pc's affected constantly the same ones or do they differ by the day?
