Domain Question

Hey,

I currently have an Active Directory network and 50+ PC's connected to this network all internally.

The Plan: (what i want to do)
I have set up a new system joined this to our domain and active directory (everything is working fine the PC can access the server)

The Worry:
I am worried that when we take this PC off site and connect it to the internet should we be able to select the domain from the login drop down menu and type in the users ID and pass that is set on the Active domain and connect ok?

I ask this as i am worried of this because the PC will be on a different network (a new building). Is there any new settings that i need to make on the PC to make this work or should it just work fine how i have it now?

Sorry if this question sounds stupid i am very new with Active directory and large co-operative networks.

Thanks :)

Normaly, no, it will not be able to connect. The reason is because the port to the internet needs to be open in order to connect.

What I would do (most secure way) is to create a VPN tunnel between the two networks. This provides the highst security and allows all the traffic to go between the two networks.

The less secure way (highly vunarable unless you setup certificates and good authentication) is to open the ports on the firewall that are needed by AD. Additionaly you would need to set the DNS to be static to point to your DNS (most likely your AD server)

If you need any help seting either of them up, just specify which dirrection you are looking to go in
