don´t recognize the cdrw unit and the drdrw unit

When i start up in the initial screen my pc recognize the cdrw unit and the drdrw unit, but after windows XP starts my explorer (and my pc icon) don´t recognize the cdrw unit and the drdrw unit, previous they were D and E units. Can anybody help me? Thanks, Bkupfer

Did u check the device manager if there is a yellow ? mark on the cdrw/dvdrw.

Can you boot from them? I'm just wondering if they actually work at all...

irq conflict

yes apparently u are having a irq conflict(if yellow arrow)
or improperly connected eide cable
or improper jumper settings(both are set as master,etc)
