Doom 3 installation 1628 error after format! HELP!!!

I just recently reformated my harddrive from a windows crash. Now I go to install Doom 3 and it seems to install fine exept at the end I get this message "1628 Failed to complete installation". Ive tried both CD drives and my disks have no scratches and are clean. Can someone please help me, im getting bored with runescape ^_^.

Oh ya and im running Windows XP MCE 2005, and the harddrive is freshly formated to NTFS.

you probably refromat your computer computer too much. It happends to me to a microsoft cd. So I went and get a new copy. This is my second copy of microsoft.

This could not be the problem.

Did you make sure you installed all drivers for your motherboard? Otherwise known as chipset drivers.

Edit:

Not the biggest help but, Google "1628 Failed to complete installation error". Apparently you are not the only one with the problem. If you look around via Google search you just might find the solution. Good luck.

Yea I did. And then when I go try a new disk, it runs just fine.
