Hi i purchased doom3 2day...im keeping it sealed untill i get a straight answer..

Do i need a cd key for this?? because if not then i can just d/l it via bit Torrent and keep my 30 bux...

thnx 4 any help..
 
Yes. you need a key to enter single player or multiplayer. I got mine to work and it works fine I have no problem with it. Its just the way you install it and the lag on the internet.
 
Guys, what you're talking about is illegal and against the forum rules. Read them before posting.

Cannot talk about such activities here. Plus its kinda a dumb question besides the fact its against the rules.
 
Doom isn't that good by the way I baught it for 4 euro eh-em, and I imidiately uninstalled it - it's crap.

Half-Life 2 is good though....

Half-life 1 + new guns = Half-life 2...

HL@ was a let down. look at the graphics of all the other games coming out at that time... Complete garbage!
 
Graphics, graphics, graphics. That's all you guys care about when it comes down to games!? Half-Life 2 has pretty nice graphics and with the upcoming HDR feature it's going to look great. But Half-Life 2 has a great story and some nice characters, and a bloody good game engine. Even though they scaled down the Havok physics engine quite a bit.
 
First off because Doom 3 is dark does not mean the graphics are bad. Also I hated how dark Doom 3 was but its still an "OK" game. As for Half Life I thought at the time that the graphics where pretty decent and I enjoyed playing it online but I never did play the single story game all the way through because I just kept loosing interest. Half Life 2 on the other hand is a different story and It is simply my favorite game of all time so far. Although Half Life 2's graphics are incredibly good they don't compare on a technical level as Doom 3's. Don't matter much in the end as graphics don't make a game good. Problem is though if they are just terrible then its hard to get into the game plain and simple.

Anyway, as Trizoy stated HL1 + New Guns x Better gfx = HL2..... I only bought HL2 for CSS... And please, you bought Doom 3 expecting to be in ultra- illuminated rooms?? Tell me you didnt know it was supposed to be dark.

When most people see a screenshot of doom 3 they arent impressed mainly because its allways too dark!

When you show someone a picture of an "ultra- illuminated room" on half life 2 they are amazed because people like to see detail and pretty bright colours!

Doom 3 may be more technical in the graphics department, but it still isnt as visually impressive as half life 2.

i loved doom because of the deatail of the foes i loved the first picture i saw of doom as the errieness of it appeled to me more then half life 2. i was impressed with half life 2 tho i loved them both if i was to pick a game based on the enemys i would go for doom hands down hl2 seamed a bit repetative as you mostly fight teh same people

Yes i must admit that the enemys in doom do look very good.
