Dos on vista 64 bit

I am using a new desktop because of lightning damage to my old one. I used a old dos program (alpha 4) which I cannot get set up on my new computer which runs Vista on a dual core 64 bit Intel. Any simple solutions?

tried dosbox

I d/l'd dosbox and ran it. Followed directions but I still can't get it to open my old dos program in my 64 bit Vista. Any more help?
