I've got alot of spare parts in the attic and decided to create an old dos rig. I found a Pentium II 233 computer - Compaq 4824. It's got a crappy Quantam bigfoot 5.25" drive. I've got 1.44 floppy/5.25, and a CD drive for it. It has a daughter board, with a few slots for PCI/ISA. I've got a few ISA sound cards as well.
Now my questions are:
Is this board ATX? Apparently in '95 manufacturers switched over to the ATX form. Since it's a pentium 2 i'm guessing it is ATX.... my only doubt is that it is proprietary. I'd like to pick up a new ATX case for it, with some nice blue led fans/cathodes blah blah. Will it fit?
Also, while doing some more research... the max HD the bios will support is 8.5 gb. I have a 6.5gb. I'd like to do away with that quantam drive, and get a PCI to IDE controller card. Will my spare 60gb drive work if I get that card?
Thank you guys for your help!
