Dotted bootup screen

Hi there. Running a Dell XPS 410 http://www.dell.com/us/en/dfh/desktops/xpsdt_410/pd.aspx?refid=xpsdt_410&cs=22&s=dfh

I was playing Mount and Blade warband, while messing with the graphics, the computer froze. I restarted it and I noticed vertical dotted lines in the DELL bootup screen and the Vista loading screen. It then goes to a black screen, and has a memory dump. Then when I start it up in safe mode, windows says its a problem with my Nvidia drivers.

I updated the drivers, however its still dotted and Im still only able to run in safe mode.

Please somebody help me, its my girlfriends computer and shes going to be home in 2 hours!

1. What kind of "messing with the graphics" were you doing?

2. Do you see a STOP code when the computer crashes? If so, what is the number?

Please somebody help me, its my girlfriends computer and shes going to be home in 2 hours!

3. Quick! Get flowers! Make her dinner!! Prepare her a hot bath!!! Anything to keep her occupied while you fix the computer. Unless she's the suspicious type...then just hide the computer (if it isn't fixed yet) and pretend you don't know anything about it.

4. Skip #3 and be honest. Honesty is always the best policy. Though, the flowers, dinner and hot bath bit are still good.

5. Oh, and welcome to the forum. We'll try to get you fixed up before you are banished to the /couch/floor/garage. ;)
