Alright, I have a tentative build I would like you geniuses to kindly look over for me--I will certainly praise you for your expertise in the end. I must note that I (while not an idiot) don't really know whether all these parts are compatible/effective together.

I will be starting from scratch and need all the pieces--if I am missing ANYTHING, please let me know. Don't worry about being polite--knock away.

USES: Having 25 internet tabs open at once while ripping or burning and/or watching dvds. I don't play any computer games nor do I imagine I ever will. I don't do any graphical or office work at all either. I do, however, want a decent, but not completely over-the-top system that will last a couple of years and withstand upgrades.

I want high quality video (thus the HD lcd and blu-ray)--unless you convince me I don't need it.

I want high quality audio (stereo sound only--2.1 is ideal) for listening to music. Can I do better than the logitech x-240 setup for a comparable price? Can audiofiles (which I am not truly one) appreciate anthing in the sub-$50 price range?

Here it is (PLEASE NOTE: this computer is WELL over my budget! If you could offer some suggestions to save me in the region of a quarter of the dollars I have virtually spent, I'd love you for it--that is, can you get me on, under, or around $800? 900 if you MUST, but in no way can I go over $1000).

Yes, I am kind of an idiot for posting a system I can't afford, but I obviously don't really know what I'm doing and it would take me too long (likely wasted time) to piece something together that I can afford. Hopefully you can work with me.

oscar is pretty good at budget builds, and that build is pretty good all in itself, intel quad core, decent graphics card, and 4 gigs of ram

Oscar is great help. He was nice enough to talk with me and answer a lot of my questions. I guess I just wanted y'all to chime in and tell me what you just did--that the kid knows what he's talking about (when I certainly do not, it is not so easy for me to tell).

Is there some way I could incorporate HDMI into any of the stuff Oscar recommended (GPU or mobo)?

Alright. I'm getting there. Thank you all so much. I've learned a lot today. Hopefully I can get this thing together (when it comes) into a working whole.

Not sure about that GPU, mine came with a DVI to HDMI adapter. Im sure you could buy one if it doesn't come with the card.

Haha, never realized how young oscar was til you said that kid. Im impressed with your maturity :D
