Downgrading from Wwindoes 8 to Windows 7

Hi, I'm going to buy a laptop and there's not too many laptops with Windows 7 pre installed anymore.

I don't want Windows 8, and the question is: How to install Windows 7 on a computer that has Windows 8 on it? I'll get the Windows 7 install disk in a few weeks and the computer in a few days.

Is it just that I put the disk inside and follow the instructions? No need to save any files I might have on the computer as I can save them on a external hard drive.
 
Put the DVD in the tray, restart the PC, and then boot off the DVD and follow the instructions.

Make sure you download the Windows 7 drivers first though and save them to a USB drive or something.
