Downgrading to XP pro with HP Discs

Hello,
I currently have a HP Compaq 6715 B Notebook and it came with Windows Vista Business and now i decided that i am angry with it. Due to the fact that i have lots of files and do file operations every day. Now i have these discs that i recieved from HP with the Laptop. There are the Vista Os discs and the Xp pro discs. The Xp one says: "Operating system CD. Contains software and drivers already installed, for re installation and repair" would this activate it already and would i be able to actually downgrade. I have heard that you cant because the EULA makes sure you dont (Think its bull) do i just click format drive? if i do what will happen when the OS is gone, does it just shutdown and wait for the new OS? I have done this with XP but that was around 3-4 years ago.

Thanks,

well if they are the disc for that laptop with xp on it, u should be able to but u will more than likely need to format, and yes it should activate if they are the disc that belong to that computer

Thanks

Thanks,
I did have to format my drive to do the install,
One more question:
i have tried partitioning but i was unable to do it, How is this done in Xp pro?
