download and upload speeds

I found Wireless Broadband internet service that has four different plans. The lowest is 3o bucks a month and has download speeds of 400k and upload speeds of 200k. My question is how fast will that be for downloading files?

Also, how fast would 4000k download speed be? That is the highest plan they have and costs 75 bucks a month.

Well 400k is like a slow dsl package, it works for browsine the internet and downloading files (will take some time). You could probably see 75% of the 400k in reality.

400k down is about 50KB/s, which is pretty slow for DSL. It'll browse the internet fine, but downloading will be pretty slow.
