Download of XP SP3

I have the full verison of XP SP2. I downloaded (I thought) SP3 from Microsoft. When I click on the "My Computer" icon and go to "Properities"
and click the general tab comes up. In the Gereral tab it still says Service Pack 2.

Does the SP3 free download change the Properities general tab to SP3.This is why I am not sure I downloaded SP3, I was thinking it does not change the Genreral tab to service pack 3, am I right?

How do i find out if XP3 downloaded properly? What can I look for?

you can get it free from microsoft update. start>all programs at the top there is mcrosoft update

My question was... How do I know It was (XP3) downloaded. The SP2 did not change to SP3 in the My Computer properities window's General Tab. I am not sure it downloaded. Where does SP2 show up on my computer?

You don't just download it, you need to install it.

To answer your question Yes it does change in your properties section. So that mean you still havent installed it.

When I downloaded it, it was in the .iso format, so to open it you'll need to burn it to a cd or mount it.

When i downloaded it from the windows site, it is a exe and you run it, reboot and done....

Well, i also downloaded it from the MS website and it was .iso . I guess i downloaded from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ce-b5fb-4488-8c50-fe22559d164e&DisplayLang=en
And it also appears in my computer properties as sp3.
