downloading from PC to kindle?

Thinking I might know the answer, a colleague asked me this - but I haven't the foggiest! Many thanks for any advice.

I've just won a Kindle Fire HD. I like books made with paper.

But I teach Scottish Country Dancing, can I download all my dance instructions onto a Kindle from my PC?

As you can imagine there is a lot of them.

I assume I can download my dance music from either Cd or PC onto the Kindle.

I've been trying to trawl through the on-line instructions but it is hard to tell.

Would I be better flogging it and buying a notepad?
