Downloading music

Whats the best program to buy music from, which has the best deal? I dont like iTunes since you have to pay $1 for each song. Napster for $10 a month you can get unlimited downloads but there in WMA format :( which is dumb plus they have some kind of protection on them. What do you guys use?

I use itunes... I don't see what's wrong with a dollar a song... You're not going to download 10 songs every month for more than 12 month...

I use iTunes because I have an iPod and it's already in the correct format for my iPod. I usually ask for gift cards (so then I don't have to buy it myself!) Then, when I download enough songs, I burn a mix CD. That makes the songs available for ripping to any computer.

I purchased Limewire PRO. It's a little quicker and will detect any corrupted files and automatically throw them away. It's $13 or so, unlimited.

Not allowed to talk about that...

iTunes has the best selection and variety. Forget 99c per song, its about $8 per album. No better than you would get in a CD store.

Napster and Yahoo offer subscription based services.

Haha are you kidding me? Let me get this straight....you purchased software...that will allow you to illegally download music (so you can get it for free)? That's awesome. Seriously, reading that made my day.

(and I know Limewire, frostwire, torrents, etc aren't always used to download content illegally...but lets be honest with ourselves alright?)

^ :d < oh my god, that didn't turn into a smiley no matter how many times I tried to make the "d" a capital letter. Lol

haha i used to buy cds...

also. frostwire is the same as limewire pro but free....

so yeah. just thought id throw that out there :)

but as far as legal goes itunes seems to be the best in my opinion

Why do bands need money that CD's make? Don't they make enough with concerts?

A tyicpal 20,000 people concert with tickets avaraging at around 60 bucks. Minus all the deductions of renting the stadium and all the people that run it...bands make/concert..$600,000. Then they do a lot more concerts. Dam it..why cant CD's be free.

Actually the bands don't profit as much as you'd think...its mostly the record studio.

My bad. On another note, Rhapsody is a good place to buy music. Same as Itunes, $.99
