Downloading problems with Win. 64 bit

Hello,
I recently purchased a copy of Windows XP Pro 64-bit edition. It runs rather well, I havent had any typical Windows related problems yet. The only issue I have with it is that when I try to install or load certain programs (such as Norton anti virus, or installing a webcam) I am prompted to install Windows service pack 3 or get the 64 bit edition of this software. Well, Norton does not make 64 bit software and I have been unable to find a patch or download to rectify this problem. Any help or link pointing the way would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is that an internet cookie or chocolate chip? :P

On a serious note, I think you're right in not finding a Norton patch, the only one I could find was for a corporate edition of Symantec AntiVirus 8.1. There's still a lot of manufacturers working on 64-bit versions of software, I'm not sure what people can do in the meantime.

Isnt XP 64 supposed to run 32-bit code but not at the same time as 64 bit code. Just like 95 ran 16 bit and 32 bit?
[ From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP_Professional_x64_Edition ]

"Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is based upon Windows Server 2003 SP1 (build 5.2.3790.1830) as that was the latest version of Microsoft Windows during the operating system's development, but takes Windows XP as its name."

So It may just be that Norton that you got for XP doesnt Work with 2003
