downloads help please

this is driving me mad, i sometimes get e'mails with a attachments such as a powerpoint presentation or a movie file but as it is downloading i can see the progress and it doesnt download the complete file and consequently i cannot open it.
i have vista and am with virgin media
any help please

Well bill, the answer depends on what type of email client you are using..are you downloading through say, google email, yahoo mail, msn mail, outlook or outlook express? ..In any case, a download stopping before completion is usually a result of it timing out. The most obvious solution might be the best one. If it's an issue on one email service, try using another specifically for those types of attachments. In the end, it'll solve your issue and you'll live longer due to dealing w/ less frustration ;) trust me on that.
 
err.. or u can use download manager first, if still not work proprely, u can try NightTech suggestion ;)

i use Free Download Manager, and it works all the time

From who? If they are from unknown persons, they may contain viruses.
Some e-mail clients may have anti-viruses to scan the attachments and may block you from downloading because there was something detected. Or your anti-virus (or better said internet security program) if you have one may detect something and block the download.
